Chapman's Reflexes

Following is an excerpt from our ebook covering Chapman's Neurlymphatic Reflexes, Essential Oils and massage and bodywork approches to address them:

Chapman’s Neuro-Lymphatic Reflexes describes a system of bringing balance to the functioning of the body by stimulating lymphatic flow through your body’s organs and glands.     They were first observed by an osteopathic physician, Frank Chapman, in clinical practice as he contemplated of the causes of disease in the body.  Dr. Chapman used these reflexes extensively with his patients in combination with traditional osteopathic practices.

His observations, notations and experiences were charted and interpreted by one of his co-workers, Dr. Charles Owens, who compiled them into a book entitled “An Endocrine Interpretation of Chapman’s Reflexes” published in 1937.  While the book was written to a target audience of fellow osteopaths, the material has been studied and incorporated in other forms of health care.  It is not utilized on a frequent basis in mainstream medicine.  Ask you doctor about Chapman’s Reflexes and note their response.  Many chiropractors and some massage therapists have some familiarity with them, but they are not taught in the their required coursework.  Chapman’s work was the basis for a system called Applied Kinesiology (AK) which is widely practiced.  The emphasis in AK is on muscle testing and balancing muscles rather than manipulating the reflex centers to affect the associated organ.

Let us take a look at meaning of a neuro-lymphatic reflex.
